Monolithic Architecture and Microservices Architecture
Monolithic Architecture
👉 Sab kuch ek single codebase/application me hota hai.
Ek hi project me frontend, backend logic, database handling, authentication, business logic, sab kuch tightly coupled hota hai.
Deployment bhi ek hi unit me hota hai (single server / single build file).
Example:
Ek travel website jisme flights, hotels, cars sab ek hi project ke andar likha hua hai.
Agar tumhe flights module me chhoti si change karni ho, toh pura app rebuild & redeploy karna padta hai.
Pros ✅
Simple to develop initially.
Easy debugging (ek hi jagah sab code hai).
Easy deployment (single unit).
Cons ❌
Large codebase = maintain karna tough.
Scaling difficult: agar sirf ek feature scale karna ho, pura app scale karna padta hai.
Failures impact whole system (ek bug → pura app down).
🔹 Microservices Architecture
👉 Application ko multiple independent small services me tod diya jata hai.
Har service apna khud ka codebase + database handle karti hai.
Services individually deploy & scale ho sakti hain.
Communication API (mostly REST/GraphQL/gRPC) ke through hota hai.
Example:
Travel website ko tod diya:
Flights service ✈️
Hotel service 🏨
Car rental service 🚗
Auth service 🔑
Agar hotels me load zyada hai → sirf hotels service ko scale kar do. Flights aur cars untouched rahenge.
Pros ✅
Scalability (independent services).
Faster development (different teams alag-alag service pe kaam kar sakte hain).
Fault isolation (hotel service crash hua toh flights service fir bhi chalti rahegi).
Cons ❌
Complex design (service communication, data consistency).
Requires DevOps setup (Docker, Kubernetes, etc).
Monitoring/debugging harder (distributed system hai).
🔑 One Line Difference
Monolithic → Sab kuch ek hi app me.
Microservices → Application broken into multiple small services jo independently chalti hain.
